The annual Christmas in Sylva celebration begins on Friday, Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. with the official lighting of the Sylva Christmas tree at the fountain on Main Street. This event is provided by the Main Street Sylva Association.
Then, at 6:30 p.m., the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce will host a holiday-themed concert by local rockers Terri Lynn Queen and Scott Baker from 6:30-7:30 p.m., on the front porch of the chamber.
The annual Holiday Fireworks will be shot at 7:30 p.m. These are sponsored by Andy Shaw Ford in Sylva and provided by the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce and Jackson County Parks and Recreation Department.
The fireworks are visible from all over Main and Mill Street in downtown Sylva and immediate surrounding areas. They are shot from directly above The Coffee Shop/Creekside Oyster House area.
This year the Holiday Spirit Sponsor is Melissa Rogers Real Estate- Keller Williams Great Smokies. She has decorated a special tree on the paver patio of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. The tree will be up through Jan. 2, 2025.
The annual Sylva Christmas Parade will be at 3 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 1, courtesy of the Town of Sylva, rain or shine.
